1. Abhyanga

Abhyangam is a treatment procedure in which medicated oils are applied and gently massaged throughout the body and head for a prescribed period, as instructed by the Ayurvedic physician. Abhyanga treatment offers numerous benefits, including improved circulation and lymphatic flow, nourishment and rejuvenation for the skin, and a calming effect on the nervous system that reduces stress and promotes better sleep.

2. Sarvanga Swedanam

In this, applying steam evenly to the entire body expect the head with the use of a sweat box or chamber. This is full body herbal steam therapy or also as steam bath.

3. Nadi Swedanam

Nadi sweda is a unique form of swedana where perspiration is induced by passing steam over the body parts by using a special instrument known as nadi sweda yantra. The steam is passed through a rubber tube fitted to the instrument and it is an easy method of applying heat to a localized part of a body.

4. Avagaha Swedanam

Avagaha sweda is a therapeutic bath where the whole body or a part of it is immersed in warm medicated liquid (usually herbal decoction, milk or oil) to induce sweat.

5. Patra Pinda

Patra panda sweda (ela kizhi) is a specialized therapy which is performed for the diseases related to Bones, muscles and nerves. The sudation therapy which is given by using a bolus which is prepared by the different combination of medicinal leaves which is processed with medicinal oil along with the medicinal herbs is called as patra panda sweda or ela kizhi.

6. Shastika Sali

A bolus which is prepared with the medicated rice along with the other herbal medicines used for sudation is called Navara Kizhi or Shastika Shali Pinda Sweda.

7. Shirodhara

Continuous pouring of decoction, oil or other liquids on the forehead, especially on the spot between the eyebrows (the Ajna Chakra, or “third eye”), and then allowing it to flow over the scalp, using a special instrument dhara yantra is known as Shirodhara which helps to reduce stress, mental fatigue and anxiety.

8. Takra Dhara

Takradhara is a traditional Ayurvedic procedure wherein a stream of cool or slightly warm medicated buttermilk is poured over the forehead or whole body which is useful in treating psoriasis, hypertension and lack of sleep.

9. Ksheera Dhara

Ksheera Dhara is a specialized therapy which is performed for the disorders related to Shareerika dosha’s (Body) and Manasika Dosha’s (Mind). Ksheera Dhara. A continuous gentle pouring of warm, medicated milk over the forehead or entire body known as Ksheera Dhara.

10. Shiro Vasti

Shiro Vasti means pooling the liquid medicines, especially herbal oils and or ghee in a chamber or compartment constructed over the head which helps to strengthen the nervous system and brain function.

11. Kashaya Dhara

Kashaya Dhara is a process by which the body is made to perspire by means of pouring warmdecoction from special herbs with a special vessel from a certain height in a rhythmic manner and is rubbed into the body. This method removes ‘ama’ or toxins from the body and Sarvanga Kashaya Dhara helps to reduce the toxin contents in our body. Sarvanga Kashaya Dhara is eliminating health problems and promotes fat metabolism, removes tension from the muscles and also elevates pain and stiffness of the joints and muscles.

12. Kaya Sekom

Kaya Sekom is a Traditional Ayurvedic Treatment where the entire body (Kaya) is bathed (Sekam) with warm medicated liquids, usually herbal oil or decoction. It is a sudation therapy – meaning it helps induce gentle sweating to open pores and remove toxins.

13. Dhanyamla Dhara

Dhanyamla Dhara is a traditional Ayurvedic pouring therapy where a warm fermented herbal liquid called Dhanyamlam is poured continuously over the body or specific parts in rhythmic movements. It’s a form of Swedana Therapy (sudation or sweating treatment) used mainly for reducing inflammation, swelling and stiffness while rejuvating the entire body.

14. Udwarthanam

A process by which the herbal powder is rubbed against the hair follicle to reduce fat and strengthen the body. Dry herbal powders or herbal paste prepared with medicated oils are used in this herbal powder massage and rubbed to dilate the channels of the body and to remove toxins from the tissues.

15. Pichu

Shiro Pichu is an Ayurvedic treatment where a medicated oil-soaked cotton pad is placed on the crown of the head. This therapy is used to treat neurological disorders, headaches, migraines, and stress, and is believed to calm the nervous system and improve mental well-being.

16. Thallam/ Thalapodichil

An Ayurvedic treatment that involves applying a medicinal herbal paste to the scalp and covering it with leaves, such as lotus or banana. This therapy, also known as Shirolepa, aims to nourish the brain and central nervous system, relax the individual, and is used for conditions like stress, hair fall, and dandruff.

17. Kati Vasti

Kati Vasti is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy where apply heat to the sacral or lumbar region by retaining warm medicated oil with in a specially formed frame on this area to treat various ailments like Musculoskeletal disorders like lumbar spondylitis, sciatica, disc herniation, disc prolapse, scoliosis, and spina bifida, Ankylosing spondylitis.

18. Greeva Vasti

The procedure of applying heat to the cervical region by retaining warm medicated oil with in a specially formed frame on this area is known by the name Griva basti. This basti is indicated in painful conditions of cervical region like , cervical spondylosis, spondylolysthesis, disc prolapse, ankylosing sponditis, rheumatoid arthritis etc.

19. Janu Vasti

Retaining the warm medicated oil over the painful knee joint for certain period is known by the name as Janu basti. This is a form of snigdha sveda and is achieved by pouring warm oil into a frame prepared on the surface of the knee joint. Janu basti is proved effective in conditions like osteoarthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other painful conditions of the knee.

20. Uro Vasti

Uro vasti is where heat is applied to the painful anterior chest by retaining warm medicated oil within a specially formed frame on this area. This type of warming is used in the treatment of respiratory disease (disease of the bronchi and lungs), weakness of the cardiac muscles (myocardial dystrophy). Uro Basti improves the circulation and breathing functions.

21. Netradhara

Netradhara is an Ayurvedic eye treatment that involves pouring a continuous, gentle stream of medicated liquid, such as herbal decoctions or milk, over the closed eyes to cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate them. This therapy is used to relieve eye strain, dryness, and other vision-related issues, leaving the eyes refreshed and soothed.

22. Karnapuranam

Karnapuranam is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy for ear care that involves gently pouring warm, medicated oil or herbal decoctions into the ears. The name literally means “filling the ear”. This procedure is individually performed in clients suffering from different diseases of the ear and head.

23. Nasyam

Nasyam (also known as Nasya karma) is a therapeutic technique in Ayurveda, a form of the Panchakarma detoxification process, that involves the nasal administration of medicated oils, herbal juices, or powders. The practice is based on the principle that the nose is the gateway to the head and the brain, and administering medication through this route can cleanse and balance the entire head, neck, and respiratory region.

24. Foot Hydrotherapy

A therapy that used to relax the feet, by soaking them in warm water and cold water, adding salts, herbal powders with essential oils to improve blood circulation, reduce pain and refresh tired muscles.

25. Colon Cleaning Therapy
